As per the latest reports, Nokia 1 is all set to be a part of Google’s Android Go program and is expected to be launched in March 2018. Crafted using the latest technology, this phone is claimed to be designed for the emerging markets. Google’s Android Go program would provide users with a seamless experience on entry-level devices.
In a tweet Russian tipster, Eldar Murtazin confirmed that Nokia 1 would be a part of Google’s Android Oreo (Go edition) program. With high-end specification like an HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory, this phone is all set to make its mark. It is expected to be priced at a budget rate of Rs. 6,670. This pocket-friendly smartphone is believed to run on Android Oreo (Go edition) that would be available with some light versions of Google apps such as Files Go, Google Maps Go, and YouTube Go.
Murtazin also added that just like HMD Global is working with Nokia 1, Huawei is also associated with the Android Go smartphone. However, there are no detailed specifications of the latter as of now.
HMD Global brought Nokia 2 as its lowest priced Android smartphone in October. The smartphone was launched in India at a nominal price of Rs. 6,999 and is also available for sale in the US. The Android Nougat-based Nokia 2 boasts of a 5-inch HD LTPS display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chip with a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and 1GB of RAM. Nokia though has promised that the smart phone will soon be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo version. The handset is good on the camera front as well. It features an 8-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The phone is fueled by a 4100mAh battery.
