After Nokia 3310 4G variant surfaced on China’s telecommunication certification authority TENAA’s site, with model number TA-1077, it is being said that HMD Global is all set to expand Nokia’s 3310 family by adding a new 4G Member. Back in February 2017, 2G version of Nokia 3310 was launched by the Finnish company at Mobile World Congress (MWC) and launched its 3G connectivity variant in September. Rs. 3310 was the initial amount one had to pay to own one of these handsets in India.
TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, and GSM networks will be supported by this new 4G variant as per TEENA’s listing. Alibaba owned YunOS operating system, which is a customized version of Android will be used in this handset. Previously HMD bought Nokia 3310 2G and Java-based Feature OS Nokia Series 30+ OS, while its 3G version was debuted. Nokia 3310 4G variant will be a part of global variant or will be a new platform overall, is still not clear. NokiaPowerUser first spotted the TEENA listing with no further specifications mentioned.
The Nokia 3310 4G is expected to sport a 2.4-inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) color display on TENAA, similar to the original version, along with a 2-megapixel rear camera sensor which comes with an LED flash, 64GB internal storage powered by a 1200mAh battery. The phone is provided with a dual-SIM support to let the users make use of two networks simultaneously. Similar to the 2G and 3G Nokia 3310 models, even this set would have Bluetooth v2.1 and Micro-USB.
The rumor is that HMD Global would host an event in China on January 19 to bring out the Nokia 9 as the new flagship model along with the Nokia 6 and Nokia 8. It is here where Finland’s company would launch the Nokia 3310 4G model officially. If not in January, the new Nokia phone could be unveiled at MWC 2018.
